I took the plan b 72 hours after unprotected sex. When my period didn't come 2 weeks later, I took a pregnancy test, which was positive! I was ovulating during unprotected sex. I wonder if I was pregnant before unprotected sex or is it possible I actually got pregnant during unprotected sex & plan b pill didn't work??? It matters & really searching to know...
It could be possible that you were pregnant if you had unprotected sex before the episode of sex that you took the Plan b. It could also be possible that implantation took place before you took Plan b. Plan b works best the earlier you take it, if the egg is fertilized and implanted prior to taking Plan b, Plan b wont terminate that pregnancy. Plan b is also only about 80% effective so it is possible that it didnt work for you. It is always best to prevent pregnancy in the first place, before sex, than to try to stop it from occurring after sex. Regular daily birth control pills (The Pill or oral contraceptives taken daily) are more like 98-99.9% effective so there is quite a bit of difference in effectiveness. No birth control is 100% effective. The only way to be 100% sure of not getting pregnant is to not have sex at all.
