I've taken phenytoin for years and one thing my wife and I have noticed is that when we go hiking outdoors, mosquitoes will not bite me, but will chew her up. The only thing we can figure is that the insects just do not like the smell or taste of the phenytoin. I'm not recommending phenytoin as a insect repellent, I'm just wondering if this is a known effect of the drug.
