Hello ElissaMomma12. Phentermine because of the potential, high risks of side effects, (due to taking it for longer than three week period of time) is meant to be taken shoret term only. Three weeks or less. There are other products available (but they work very similiar to phentermine) talk to your doctor or pharmacist. Regards pledge
During a routine visit with my Internist I asked for his opinion of the two new diet drugs the FDA has approved. He said that he was going to wait and see if problems cropped up after they'd been on the market for a while before he wanted to prescribe them. But then he volunteered that he'd had success with Phentermine and was comfortable prescribing it. In his experience even the most worrysome side-effect of Phentermine, a rise in blood pressure, was rare in his patients.
So is it a "good pill"? Probably, when used as intended for short-term weight loss under the supervision of a doctor. Obviously it is far from a perfect pill since if it were more effective and better tolerated we'd have less of an obesity problem. But if it takes the edge off just enough that you can stick to a diet (and exercise) program then it could be the difference between success or failure for you.
