My pharmacy gave me a medicine called pravastatin instead of crestor! Is it the same thing?

No, they are similar medications, but not the same. I would question your pharmacy about the switch.

I would ask the pharmacist about it. Some docs get pretty funny, if they order crestor they mean crestor. I suspect that this is something to do with your insurance, as mine would not pay for crestor because there is no generic.
