... other medications will replace metformin?
Wow... A loaded question, too little information! Diagnosed how long ago... Prescribed Metformin how long ago... Have your Fast BG and A1C numbers been good? If you have a kidney problem was it diagnosed by your doctor? Has your diet changed recently? Any other "potent" prescription meds added recently? Metformin is the "old-line" first med for Type 2 Diabetes, almost as old as I am (66)! There are other meds out there, only a physician can decide if a "kidney problem" can be corrected by a change in your Diabetes med. I am sorry I cannot help more.
