our son has been taking zyprexa for 5 years and wants to stop taking it because a friend told him that he should not take it all of his life because of the long term harm it may cause his body. Is zyprexa safe to take for a life time?
If he needs medication, he doesn't need to listen to friends who don't know his unique situation. If he needs it for a lifetime, then he needs it. As long as the dr does the appropriate lab work to be sure he's ok, then he's alright. With any med, its the decision is the alternative to not taking it what I want. His condition whatever the doc put him on it for, can and most likely will come back. Is that what he wants?
