... but she still has the pain on the right side of her neck & scalp. She's been to 2 differenrt pain managent clinics taken serveral drug like lycra, nurotin, vicodin, oxycotin, fetnayl patch and others but nothing seems to work. Anyone know of any non tradional ways she may get relief She's 77?
My bf was given lidoderm patches. They are a topical anesthetic and can help alot.
I had the shingles in my eye, forehead and skull, it was horrible. I tried all medications and non worked until a friend suggested marihuana and the minute I smoked I was relieved, i could feel the areas where pain was happening but i did not feel the pain. It made me sleepy so I rested a lot, smoked like 4 to 5 times before it cleared out. I don't know if a brownie or tea may have the same effect. I was not hooked not smoked again. But so thankful. Who knew it was so strong?
Your mother's PHN (Post Herpatic Neuralgia) can be helped by placing hot
compresses on the area which is hurting.
After years of having had shingles in my half of my head (scalp, eye, head)
I was left with optic nerve damage and corneal scaring. Hot packs really do
help a lot. You asked for a non-traditional way - well, the nurse in the hospital
I was in for the shingles, kept putting hot packs on my side of my face - temple -
scalp and right side of my face. They were so soothing. They might just take
the edge off of your mother's pain. I pray she gets some comfort. God bless
her, and you, too.
