I was prescribed Lyrica 300mg twice a day 2 years ago. Lately it has not been enough. I take 3-4 pills a day. I deal with a clinic since I have no insurance and am unemployed and it still cost $ just too see a doctor even for one question. I would like to know if anyone has safely taken more doses of Lyrica 300mg, thats 1200mg(4 pills) a day??Thanks for any response.TReeves
The amount you are taking is too high. Does the clinic you go to prescribe that dosage to you ?
I believe that you probably need to speak to them about adding in another medication to supplement that large dosage of Lyrica. I take Lyrica 75 mg twice a day. But I also take Neurontin (Gapapentin generic name) with the Lyrica. I take 900 mg three times a day & it works very well. So I encourage you to speak to your Dr. as soon as possible. Also a bonus is that the Gabapentin is very cheap.
Especially in comparison to Lyrica.
One other thing, you said you do not have any insurance. Do you get patient assistance for your medications? Most pharmaceutical Companies will either help with the cost of the medications.
And sometimes based on your income will provide you with free medications..
Best of luck, Kathy
