August 2013 I became I'll and was later said to have developed sepsis, after two weeks in ICU and another in a regular hospital room I was released under home health care. Now I have neurapath and have been on three different types of medication. Cymbalta seems to stop the pain but my body doesn't seem to handle it well. I am tried and the nausea is aweful. I have also notice tightness in my joints after taking it. Is this a normal side affect, should I be worried?

I couldn't take Cymbalta because it caused me to have petit mal seizures, which is not common. The side effects of this drug are far too many to list on the public forum, so please read the info provided by drugs.com:
Wow, so what could you take what has helped you?
I've had neuropathy since 2005 caused by chemo. I tried every med on the market that is usually used for neural disorders and could take none of them. About 6 months ago, I talked my primary care doctor into letting me try amitriptyline. It does not take the pain away, but it dials it down a notch or two. I also take ALOT of hot whirlpool baths. Those give me a couple of hours of relaxation with decreased pain. Some folks say that ice works better for them. You just have to try both and see which is best for you. Many folks take gabapentin or Lyrica. Of course, all of those meds have side effects that effect some people, but not others. I hope you find the right med for you. If the side effects of Cymbalta are bothersome for you, you should discuss other options with your doctor.
