I'm so happy I was able to finally find a support group! I'm 21 years old and was recently diagnosed with pherical neuropathy. I just started seeing a doctor again and he prescribed mentanx for the numbness and tingling of my feet and hands, until I am able to see a neuro. Has anyone tried it? And if anyone was has home remedies/suggestions in the meantime It would rely help!
Welcome to the site! I have not heard anyone on the site say that Metanx was helpful for their peripheral neuropathy. Metanx is basically a multi-vitamin, although it contains some of the more complex vitamins (B12, folic acid, etc.). Everyone reacts differently to meds, and it is possible that it will help you greatly. When you see a neurologist, he/she will most likely try gabapentin, lyrica, or cymbalta to treat your PN. In the meantime, you can apply either hot or cold packs to ease your pain/discomfort, whichever works best for you. A soak in a hot bathtub helps my pain greatly. However, others on drugs.com have found that ice helps their pain more. I hope you find relief soon. You've come to the right place for information and support.
I have never tried mentanx. I have read it was B vitamins in a special formula. I think its B6, B12 and B9. I've had neuropathy for years and its excruciating pain. I would try anything that may help. I would truly appreciate it if you would please let me know how it works for you? I wish you well and sure hope the mentanx helps you.
