- peripheral neuropathy
I to have periheral neuropathy very bad in my feet past my ankles.1 maybe 2 hours of sleep is all I get.I'm on gabapentin 900mg a day(and night),but the pain of the burning, sensitive touch and sharp pins and needles wo'nt stop 24/7. I never thought of ice water before.I'll try anything to stop the pain.
hey Memphis dawn, I have not tried ice water, but ive had PN for about 4 years now. couldn't take the neurotin, so just tried some things on my own. first thing is get you a good pair of rocker shoes. I use zelero or pw minor. don't get MBT, they will mess your knees up. these shoes have been a godsend for me. I also go to an acupuncturist. it takes a couple of months for it to start to work, but it worked for me. I go every month now. also, not sure if it works, but I take alpha lipoic acid and benfotiamine supplements. I also bought a rebuilder unit, its like a tens device you use once a day during flare ups.
I still get flareups, but its usually from something I did like sit on a hard chair for 4 hours watching football or stopping the supplements and acupuncture because I feel better an think its gone away.
hope some of this helps, I know this conditions sucks
