Any idea why is this occuring? Does it mean i am pregnant? I didnt hav sex after having periods.
Kaismama is correct. It could be a number of things. Since your period was just a couple weeks ago, perhaps a bit of uterine lining was retained and is now shedding. (our "periods" occur because our uterus builds a nice bloody plushy lining to protect and nourish a fertilized egg until the placenta forms. Most months, there is no fertilized egg and this lining is shed and this is what we call menstruation or our "period". The expression "period" is a shortened version of an older expression "period of confinement" from the days when women didnt go out in public if they were menstruating or was far enough along in pregnancy to "show". It was considered "vulgar" to do so and so women stayed away from public gatherings and parties etc for a week or so every month and for several months during their pregnancies, as if they were ashamed of this state. Arent you glad we dont live like that anymore? Men, of course, who were just as responsible for the pregnancy, could parade his happy rear end anywhere he wanted at all times but that is another discussion for another time!) So for whatever reason, a bit of lining may have not shed and is now shedding or it could be from other things like infection.or it could be another period. We shed the uterine lining in response to a decreasing level of hormones so your hormone levels may have dropped for some reason triggering the bleeding. It is usually nothing to worry over. It is not a sign of pregnancy. If you continue to bleed, if it gets very heavy or keeps happening for several months that you are having bleeding every two weeks, then you should visit your gynecologist for an exam.
