I've had bad periods since they started just after I turned 14. They used to last for 4 weeks, then I wouldn't have one for 4 weeks. Most of the time I had it was bearable, but for about 3 days each time I would have really heavy bleeding, with huge clots, and really bad stomach cramps. Just before my 20th birthday they finally put me on the pill (rigevidon), I've been on that for around 7 months, after 3 months they also added something else to ease the bleeding. However, since I've started the pill I get really bad back cramps (although the stomach ones are a lot better), and I still have some clotting and have very little energy for around a week. Has anyone else had a similar experience?
Hi Romione. I too have suffered from really bad periods. Not quite a bad as yours but I have horrible cramps and pass large clots the first 2-3 days. I have my period for 8-10 days twice a month sometimes. I only remember bleeding for one month straight maybe twice though. Just curious if you have had bloodwork done? Or ultrasound? Laparoscopy? If not I would look into it. There may be an underlying problem like thyroid, vitamin defeciency or cysts, endometriosis. Good news is I was able to have one child. No luck for two years on the second but still trying. I have recently started taking a B complex vitamin because I saw it on another website and last month was the first time in my life where my cramps were very minimal! No idea if it was a fluke or if it would help you but it is worth a try. Hopefully you can find some relief. Get a second opinion if necessary. There are other treatments available.
