4 days ago I have unprotected sex. I was on my period. Maybe 3 or 4 days into it. I'm terrified that the shot didn't work and I'm pregnant. I've had the shot 3 times but idk if my period may have stopped it from working. I'm way to young to have a child. I'm a senior in high school. The guy I did it with says he's 99.9% non fertile but I believe he's lying to me... I can't have a kid I really need answers guys. Please help..
Your period has nothing to do with whether or not you're protected. The shot is almost fool proof, you have less then a 1% chance of getting pregnant. I don't know why you girls don't trust your birth control, but you're putting yourself thru allot of anxiety for nothing. You are smart in not believing the lies boys tell for sex. How would he know he was infertile? They don't test kids for that, they don't even test adults unless they can't make babies.
Never ever trust a guy (or a girl for that matter) who says they are infertile-I dont have enough fingers and toes to count all the women I have seen pregnant who believed for some reason that they were infertile or that their partner was! As Kaismama says, they would rarely have opportunity to know that they are infertile since most people are not even tested for fertility until they begin trying to have children with their partners (and not usually until they have tried for at least a year with no success). As long as you get your shots on time, you have a less than 1% chance for pregnancy. No worries as far as pregnancy goes, but remember that birth control doesnt protect you against STDs so the only worry you have is getting an STD. Fertility really doesnt have to do with your period, it has to do with ovulation. Depo stops you from ovulating. If you do not ovulate, you cannot get pregnant no matter how much sperm you are exposed to. You can have periods without ovulation so having a period is no indicator for fertility. You have to be ovulating to be fertile. If you girls would learn more about how your body works and how birth control effects the reproductive process you'd have a lot less to worry about. This is all knowledge that can be found online if you look.
