i started taking the pill 21 days ago ( tomorrow will be my 21st active pill day) and i still have not started my period. i didnt do the first day of the period start nor the sunday start. my question is- when will i get my period? and if i dont get it in 2 days do i keep taking the green "inactive" pills if i dont have my period? or do i skip the green pills and start a new pack? also since it will be 21 days of taking the active pills am i technically now protected?
Your period should come during the green inactive pill week. Just keep taking the pills as they come in the pack. Dont alter it no matter what your body is doing. The only time your period has anything to do with how you take the Pill is in the beginning (and you didnt start it that way) so just keep taking them as they come in the pack. Sometimes when you first start the Pill, you may not be regular, you may spot during the active pills, or you may not have a period during the green inactive pills but keep taking them like they come in the pack and within a few months, your cycle will straighten out and your period will come when it should. Usually, on average, most women start their period on the 3rd or 4th inactive pill, but it could come anytime that week. Just keep taking the pills as they come in the pack though no matter what your body is doing. If you were to miss two periods in a row, you need to contact your Dr. Since you have taken a full pack, you should be protected from pregnancy if you have been taking your pills properly with no missed pills and have been taking them at roughly the same time each day.
