I'm 22 years old 6'5" and 155 lbs. I'm really skinny obviously but I take 15mg of adderall xr daily and I have no appetite at all after I take it. I have tried to force myself to eat but I just can't do it. I have an insanely fast metabolism as it is so I already had trouble keeping on weight. Never been able to go above 155 though no matter how much I ate. I have talked to my doctor about my weight and he just says keep eating all the time. He doesn't understand it's just not that easy. I was thinking about talking to him about periactin to help at least maintain my weight while on adderall. Is this a good idea? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
hi jccc22,first let me say i'm not a doctor. So all i can tell you is from my own experiance. periactin does and will make you so hungry that your looking in the frig everytime you can as if someone may have put something in there that you havn't noticed before.it def jump startes your appetite. but seems to where off in 2 weeks from when you start taking it. so I would take it for a couple of days 4 or 5 then stop it for 3 days then start it all over again.I told my doctor what I was doing and he was fine with it.but then I never took adderall of any kind cause i'm way to hyper on my own. And that worked out nicely for me being a roofer for 30 years.i never needed workasets like lots of other guys i worked with.most roofers are druggies or drinkers, not all, please no hate mail from any of you very hard working guys out there.but in phily the best A/A meetings were at the roofers union hall. now that all the oldtimers are gone they got some of the titest N/A meetings in all of philly.but let me digress, periactin is a fine idea just talk it over with your doctor... subzero58... pete
I as well was on both the same meds, and had no luck gaining weight even with taking the periactin. The only way i got my weight back was getting off the adderall and it took a little bit but now my weight is coming back up, all though i need and miss my ADD medicine, Maybe ask for another med!!!
