I was always told working as a nurse that Percocet is a name brand when mixed with tylenol. Just as Percodan is oxycodone and aspirin.
Yes Percocet is oxycodone mixed with Tylenol, or acetaminophen.
Percocet is oxycodone and tylenol. Percodan is oxycodone and aspirin. Oxycodone without an additive is just oxycodone.
Yes, Percocet is a brand name for oxycodone/acetaminophen combination pill. Oxycodone alone (no acetaminophen) brand name is Roxicodone for the IR (immediate release) and Oxycontin for ER (extended release). Percocet used to have just one strength 5/325, but now comes in a few other strengths: 2.5/325, 5/325, 7.5/325, and 10/325. It used to also come in 7.5/500 and 10/650 but I believe those are being phased out because the government requires combination drugs to contain no more than 325mg to help people avoid the damaging effects to the liver with too much acetaminophen.
percocet IS a brand name. The generic name would be oxycodone/acetaminophen. for example;if you doctor Rx'd you "percocet 10/325" then if you opted for the generic your bottle would say "oxycodone/apap 10-325" (apap means acetaminophen) so the tablet would have 10 mgs of oxycodone in it and 325 mg of acetaminophen in it. But yes,PERCOCET is a brand name.
