Generally when there is an age given and they don't say why its because it wasn't tested in kids under 16. I have a problem with the literature on this med, the one for the consumer says 12 and the professional says 16.

Safety and effectiveness of Kalbitor in patients below 16 years of age have not been established. This doesnt mean your Dr cant use it, it would be considered an "off label" use however and if anything happened, it could come back on him if there was a lawsuit.
