I then was switched to Paxil 40 mg. It helped for a good bit but the weight gain I hated! After few years I dropped it to 20 mg and horrible panic/anxiety were back! Doctor put me back on Zoloft but this time around did nothing maybe even made me worse. 5 weeks ago the dr put me on 10mg of lexapro and it ruined my life! Panic/anxiety/depression/horrid crazy thoughts! Can't function!
Today the dr had me stop the lexapro and put me back on Paxil 40mg but because of how bad I feel from the lexapro I'm only taking 20 mg the first few days to adjust better? A few questions?
1.) since Zoloft didn't work for me the second time around does that mean Paxil won't either?
2.) Only having 5 weeks of lexapro in me will it be out of my system faster?
I don't care about the weight gain from Paxil now as the lexapro left me so bad I lost 16 pounds in 2 weeks.
Guess I'm looking for encouragement that Paxil will work again and fast. I have also taken Xanax daily for years too. Right Now doesn't help a ton because the lexapro has made me so bad.
I was on a paxil xanax combo but due to lowering my libdo I had my md switch me off the paxil to another antidepressant which unfortunately did not help my depression like paxil did.I am considering going back to paxil for the fact it actually worked for me and I am will to sacrifice my sex drive to feel better by restarting back on the paxil(which my md stated I should have no problems getting back to my effective therapeutic level).Hope this advice helped some and hope you feel well soon.
