I am trying to find the right medicine for my depression I have no energy and Im sad oh and angry at times. Im on wellbrutrin xl but Im going to stop taking this medicine please help me out with this question.
julienicole, How long have you been on wellbutrin? Don't stop taking it til you do to the doc. Call him tomorrow and tell them you need an appt asap. Tell him what is going on and see what he suggest. Paxil does work for some people but some it doesn't. Sometimes we have to try diffrent things before they find the right thing. I had to go thru several meds before finding what worked for me. i take Lexapro and xanax, and it took awhile to get there. Most times it takes up to 4 wks to get the full efect of the meds, its sad they don't have one that works over nite LOL, we all wish. I would like to welcome you here if you are new. But please call and see you doc in the next few days. Please keep me updated and let me know what happens. God Bless
Yes, Paxil is a good antidepressant. You may take the Paxil with the Wellbutrin actually. Unfortunately, finding an antidepressant is a trial and error sort of ordeal. What works for one, may or may not work for another. The fact that Paxil works for your sister is encouraging though.
Please do not just stop the Wellbutrin. Follow your doctor's instructions. It is best to taper off an antidepressant rather than just stop it. As I said, you can take other antidepressants along with the Wellbutrin so you may benefit from taking two.
I can't remember which end of the spectrum paxil is on - strong or weak. But I started with the Wellbutrim XL and then just recently added Zoloft (in the middle) I feel like this combination is working well with my depression and anxiety. Maybe you need a higher dosage of Wellbutrim.
