Paxil - I have been taking klonopin for 30 years and no longer works. My doc is thinking about?
Added 5 Jan 2015:
I have been agoraphobic for 30 years. Lost my job due to a knee injury which made my anxiety worse. I do meditate and exercise but i think I need something else not klonopin, it just isn't helping any more. Hanging in limbo!
There are many antidepressants like Paxil that can help with your anxiety disorder. Getting off the Klonopin needs to be a slow process and not accomplished until you have another medication on board. It takes upwards of a month on an antidepressant to reach therapuetic levels. Do not just stop the Klonopin cold turkey. There is risk of seizure if you do. Besides antidepressants, there is also a medication called BuSpar which is for anxiety disorder. Just some thoughts.
