At different doses. I am currently down to 10 mg and still not receiving a ton of relief from my anxiety. I’ve never been consistently on a dose for more than two weeks. I am wondering if I should stick out the 10 for a month or request to be put a different med? Thoughts?
Hi, Schmutz! It can take 4-6 weeks to feel the full effects of antidepressant/anxiolytics and 6-8 weeks (called a "fair trial") to reach full therapeutic levels in your bloodstream. You have to be patient and stay with one dosage for this length of time.
Why did you reduce your dose? Side effects?
Why not try the standard initial dose of 20mg (under your doctor's supervision) for a month or more and see how you do. If needed you could increase up to 50mg/day eventually (under your doctor's supervision). Don't play with your dosage on your own!
