I just stared talking this medication for anxiety and depression. I am a petite person and always have been. I've tried other medications before, so this isn't my first rodeo. My question is, how many people had positive results and didn't gain weight? This is very important to me.
My personal experience with Paxil was not a positive one.
Approximately 20yrs ago I was going through a lot of surgical procedures and my doctor at that time thought it would be best if I took anti-depressants.
I took Paxil for over a year.
Unfortunately, the Paxil made my breasts double in size.
Did it help the depression?
Yes, but at a significant cost.
Would I recommend Paxil yes but be aware it "can" cause weight gain.
I started taking Paxil in 2002. I was skinny at the time. In 2012 I got off the Paul because I had gained so much weight I was unhappy with my body. I gained at least 80 pounds. I lost about 40 pounds in 5 months, but unfortunately late 2012 I got back on. I gained all my lost weight back plus more. Then in August of 2016 I went off again and in about 4 to 5 no the I lost 50 pounds. Then I had to go back on again in May of 2017. I have been in Weight Watchers and I gained back 20. I noticed when I was off of the Paxil I had more control over what I ate. I could eat and not gain weight. I am now just getting off again. I ate the same food last time when I was on Paxil and off Paxil and always gained while I was on.
