I recently started having major anxiety and the dr started me on Zoloft which made my anxiety go through the roof. I literally felt like I could not function. I took that for 6 weeks before I said I'm done. I didn't take anything except for an occasional Xanax, maybe once every 2-3 weeks. Now I started taking Paxil 4 days ago 10mg and I feel like my anxiety has doubled. How long does this last? Is this normal?
Im sorry to hear you're having a hard time finding the riight meds. Anxiety is normal with any antidepressant. I usually takes about a 6 to 8 weeks to get into your system depending the person. Try to give it a little longer to take its full affect. It does get better just hang in there.
Paxilworried; Pretty much at the beginning of any of the ssri'S you get several side effects that wear out within a couple of weeks and ANXIETY is almost always one but the doctor started you on a very low dose you can take some Xanax with it if it's okay with the doctor. And all of these take at least 6 weeks to reach the full blood level and it is possible that your doctor might increase the dose of the paxil being its the lowest dose. But it always worked good for me with very little side effects after the beginning..Hope it starts getting easier for you it's so hard when we are adjusting to new medication's But well worth it once they find the right one. Enjoy your Sunday Chuck1957.
