My husband has been on dobutamine for two months now. His BP runs low, avg 79/50 with occasional readings of 99/60. He believes he can drive his car. He wants to resume driving himself to and from dialysis. Need to convince him that driving is not recommended but haven't had the cardiologist outright tell him he cannot drive (of course, they never said he could either).
With blood pressure that low he is at real risk of passing out and/or having an accident. Ask the cardiologist for a letter maybe. It is always best not to drive if unsafe (here in AU a doctor can order a license removed but it takes forever to get it back if ever). Sometimes it is just plain prudent to get someone else to drive.
