Family MEMBER MUST PROVIDE assistance to toilet!!! NO ONE IS GETTING ENOUGH SLEEP Help! Sleepless family member!!
My dad has Parkinson's Disease and has Urinary Frequency problems. We have recently cut back the amount of water he intakes. When he takes his 8pm meds we give him just enough water to get pills down. Then in addition, I am staying up with him until 12:00 am or 1:00 am. By this time he is usually able to sleep for longer periods of time. We have discovered he usually gets through the night better with less water intake in evening. Then our sleep has improved. (I live with my parents) Mom and I are the primary ones caring for him. Before we reduced water intake, he would be up every ten to fifteen minutes to urinate. I chase mom to bed between 9pm and 10pm. She is getting more rest. I hope this helps. (Take shifts) One may care for 6-8 hours then the other can take over. Best advice= experiment.
