I had spoken to my doctor about getting paragard because I'd really like to not have to worry about taking the pill everyday, and I'd like to get off the hormones. But my doctor said it can be very painful, or even unbearable for some girls who haven't yet had a kid. I was wanting to know first hand from woman who had it done before having children's reviews on how the procedure went so I had a better understanding of what to expect, or if I should go through with it. Thanks.
Carleigh210; Here is an answer from one lady that I found that had it done and sounds tough. I am going to copy and paste this because nobody has answered you make sure the doctor give you some pain pills also we have support groups here that are free just go to the top type in the periguard and a drop down screen well come up. keep following until you see the support group or answerw and questions come up and you can read what all the woman that have posted in there have to say. hope that helps you chuck1957 ((I got the Paraguard IUD this morning around 11am (extremely painful) it is now 9PM and I have not been able to leave my couch. If I stand up I get extremely bad cramps and I have to lay back down. I've been taking ibuprofen since this morning. Is this normal? I wanted to call my doctor but it is Friday night and now I have to wait until Monday.

Wanted to add that these are not normal cramps. I have never felt pain like this before. It makes me want to roll up in a ball on the floor when I try to walk))) Good luck Carleigh.
