My GI Dr gave me this med for stomach pain, abdominal area is enormous and hard and sensitive to pressure most of the time. After colonoscopy, endoscopy and CT scan, he said there was a little erosion and dx GERD. I don't have heartburn or reflux and I took this for several weeks with no change. I stopped but I'm thinking of resuming it, maybe I didn't give it enough of a chance. How long before you see/feel results. thanks
Dear donnalu - GERD is worse than heartburn - I have it bad and have to be careful of everything I put in my mouth. Having Crohns for 31 yrs doesn't help much either. A lot of meds take 6-8 weeks to reach full effect. My GERD is so bad I have to sleep sitting up most of the time as it is unbareable lying down. Even tho some symptoms don't mean Gerd, at least you could feel better it you were a little less sick. I strongly suggest you give it a try. You will never know if it could have helped unless you hang in there. best to give the best try possible so you can honestly say " I really tried and it didn't work". A lot of people give up too early, claim does not work and bounce from drug to drug.. Give it your best shot, then if no change you can honestly tell your Dr you need to try something else.Best of Luck, hon. Have a good day.
