I get panic attacks all the time I take medicane for it what else can i do And I want to know how i can gain weight I try and try but i can,t please help me kathy thanks
Panic attacks is actually something you do not have control over. You do not know when it comes on and you can not make it stop. May I suggest yoga, as you you need to gain control over your life. As for the weight this is also caused by your life being out of control. I really believe in my heart that even if you study bio feedback that might help. But yoga I believe is #1 you will have control over body and mind.
In the mean time can I also suggest Ensure Plus for balanced nutrition. Have this at least 2x daily with your meals.
I know you can over come all these problems as you are starting to take back you life by comming here.
I don't have a problem with the advice of itsmetoo. Yoga is great, in fact I am beginning a yoga class too in a couple weeks. I'm hoping for help with my RA, Raynaud's, APS, Fibro ... I have lots of autoimmune problems and accompanying pain issues. But one thing I would ask the dr about in addition to the yoga is trying Remeron. It helps some with anxiety, which may add to the benefit of the yoga for panic attacks and it's also used as an appetite stimulant. It does make some people experience vivid dreams but it's just something you might want to ask the dr about. Hope that helps.
The best advice I can give you is to find a "safe" word like stop or no when you start to feel overwhelmed. I use it all day when I start to feel the sensation try to control my mind/body. Then I try to think of something that I love or am thankful for. This was very hard to do and you will need to practice, don't give up on it. As far as the weight gain I have been on v-8 and ensure immune builder everyday and have gained ten lbs in a month. My body is still recovering and it is important to remember that it is going to take some time to get back to "normal!" Good luck!
Have your thryoid been checked lately. Thryoid problems can cause extreme nervousness and can make it hard to gain weight. Most who take anti anxiety meds actually gain weight, and that is why I suspected you may have a thyroid condition. It is just a thought and if you have anyone in your family with thyroid issues, I would have it checked out.
Hi it might be that you are on the wrong medication, Im on aropax 20mg!!When I first had my nervous break down I was too thin as well but when I got on the right medication it relaxed me and I naturally put on weight although aropax has a reputation for weight gain too, anxiety makes you lose weight but I would also have a blood test to exclude anemia(low iron) or any other physical problems aswell. Best wished. Dearne
