... have a recommendation on how to go off Xanax. Has anyone done it successfully. I've been on it for about 8 years and am in a difficult place right now
I also have been on Xanax but for an extended time. It should be easy for you to go off of it since you have not been on it for too long. I was weening off of it with the help of a therapist until I had 3 surgeries in a month! I take two 0.5 mg at night and 1 in the morning. I gave up my morning pills for at least 3 months until I got sick. My anxiety was higher than it should have been so the doctors thought it best I take it. My sister is in the process of weening off herself, she is now working on the night medication and has stopped the day medication completely over a period of months. So if you continue to rely on it you will become addicted. When you are it is very hard to survive without it and my sister went off cold turkey after taking it for years and went into seizures and I had to call 911! Ween off if you must but get off of this stuff it is just like drinking and affects your liver the same way!
