Hi, are the doctors in the hospital aware of how much weight you have lost? That is pretty serious! Do they know you take suboxone (i think that is what you meant?)? It would be interesting to know how long you have been taking it, as it can actually cause the symptoms you have mentioned as side effects; stomach pain, nausea, headache, etc... also if you are taking up to 24mg a day you are overdosing on this med. You need to confess to taking these to someone who can help. You can use an advice phone line confidentially if you are scared to start with. But please tell someone and get some advice asap
Hey Fribrad, Sorry that I am just catching up with my mail, but I had to answer your question. I'm not sure if pc stands for pancreatitis, but I have had pancreatitis three times, and believe me, if you have it, you know it!!! First you think that you are going to die. Secondly, the pain in your side and back is so bad, you don't want to move. Thirdly, you can't stop vomiting. Finally, by the time someone drives you to a doctor or a hospital (because you can't possibly drive yourself, you will be admitted immediately, because your enzymes are through the roof, and the only thing that they can do is to take you off of ALL food including fluids. (You get them through the IV). I'm not saying that something is not wrong with you, because obviously you have lost a ridiculous amount of weight, all I am saying is that it is NOT pancreatitis.
Thank your lucky starts for that! Because if you are getting chronic pancreatitis, you are at a much higher rate for cancer, and/or death. I'm very scared, I will not TOUCH alcohol, because that can irritate my pancreas. Good luck finding out what is wrong with you. If your doctors are ignoring you, GO GET ANOTHER OPINION!!
I have been diagnosed with chronic pancreatitis through the use of an endoscopic ultrasound. Your symptoms match my symptoms precisely. You need to see a gastroenterologist about having an endoscopic ultrasound. If you are diagnosed with chronic pancreatitis, the doctor will prescribe enzymes for you to take to help alleviate your pain and to help you gain weight.
