Anti depressants are one of the things that can help with it. Its not going to take it away totally by any stretch. Often times gabapentin or lyrica is added for chronic nerve pain. Pain meds may still be needed however.

Pamelor helps decrease the pain; however, if your pain is severe pain, relief from pamelor would more that likely be minimal. You may need a pain medication. When we are in pain it causes us to get depressed (pain and depression go hand and hand) so when we take antidepressants it helps eleviate the pain.

Regardless of whether or not you are depressed, antidepressants can help alleviate pain, but only to a degree as said earlier.

I've had back pain for he last two years, everyday. Since I started Pamelor the pain hasn't completely gone but it has gotten a lot better. Some days I don't even notice it.
I also go to a acupuncture once every two weeks. free discount card
