No, because getting the wrong antibiotic is very bad for you. My primary care physician won't do it either even when he has treated me for chronic bronchitis for over 15 years. I may know my symptoms... but his concern is for me and making sure nothing else is going on. During one of my more stubborn episodes, I actually had pneumonia and not bronchitis.
Ask for help, ask your doctor if you can make payments, go to the E.R. but get yourself seen.
