It hurts, but only when I put enough pressure on it, it also seems to make itself known when I walk around, but not too much. It may or may not be helpful to know that I've recently (past 4 or so weeks) been passing stool with discomfort around my anus, bright red blood on the paper, but none on the stool. When that problem appeared, it gave me horrible itching for only a single night.
Any help? Or advice?
Pain in my right side, about an inch below ribcage?

I also, since feeling the pain, have also felt a stomach ache. I have taken stool softener, in hopes that it may help...

The tenderness on your right side just below the ribs could be your gallbladder or less likely your liver (I have no idea if you drink).
The issue with bright blood and itching around the anus is probably an irritated hemorrhoid. I know it's embarrassing (it was for me) but swallow your pride, go to the pharmacy and ask for some hemorrhoid cream (cheap). Apply it after a shower and get the itchy spots too and your problem should be over quite quickly. Those moist adult toilet wipes can be a blessing when paper feels like a wire brush too.
