Lately when I walk my hips start really hurting and lock up and my jaw is also locking up and popping. I have been diagnosed with arthritis in my neck had synovitis removed from my right wrist and am supposed to get surgery for arthritis in my right shoulder. I hate going to the doctor because they look at me like I am a pain killer seeker. I hate this pain it keeps me awake at night. i can't hardly ride a horse anymore because of my knees, walk to do anything and do any work above my head. I was told I have a neck of a 70yr old and I am only 40 yr old male.Does anyone have any ideas?
I am so very sorry for your pain. I think most of us experience the same sort of treatment from the medical community, if you don't already have an established relationship with a Dr. I was fortunate as my Dr has been in my life for 20 years... until he himself had a medical emergency and was gone for 18 months... every single Dr who took his place questioned my integrity, two of whom called me a "drug seeker and liar" outright. I wanted to die. The pain became all consuming and took over my life. For non medical relief it is hot showers (ALOT of them), ice packs and Advil, or Aleve depending on what works for you.
Accupuncture has been known to work on some, however, when one is prone to infection it is not necessarily a recommendation. My mother has sent me some herbal thing from Mexico, in which she made me promise to try for 30 days.
I was blessed when my Dr came back to work, he knew me and now I am officially diagnosed and treated with respect everywhere I am sent.
You may have the blood tests not come up with the proper "markers" for a long time or if ever. If you find any "tricks" to live without meds, pass them on. However, you need to establish yourself with a competent Dr who will listen and send you where you need to go.
I have read an article that Vitamin D may be playing a huge role in our pain or symtoms. I thought it was worth looking into and I am now on a one-a-day with the recommended dosage for Vitamin D for over 50, which I just turned last August.
