I have been taking 10mg Lorcet, 6 daily for 8 yrs. Obviously, this stopped working so well. Now my doctor added Nuncynta 75mg 3 times daily for severe & break-through pain. I forgot to ask, how to dose for break-through pain? Together okay or always separate? Also, yes, I am edgy on Nuncynta & when it wears off, I feel depressed or less happy, per say. Take another & it leaves, so it must be the Nuncy. I also was on Lamictal, but I don't know if I should take them together? I feel as if my neck is sweating (happens at night too), but it isn't. Odd. Any advice on dosing for break-through, please?
Hi Lisa, I would call your doctor back for more specific instructions on dosing. Did you mean you have ONE med now for pain? You also said "I was on Lamictal too"... does that mean you stopped it or are still taking it? I would also tell your doctor about the edginess you feel with this medication. It may be a bad side effect. Here is the link for Nucytna dosing details. But I would call your doctor or pharmacist for more accurate details. Goof luck and please repost.
I have been there and done that when the medication just does not work like it should, your best bet is just to be open and honest with the doctor and tell him your current medications aren't working, there are many long acting medications that can be taken 6-8 hours apart and they release so much medicine in your system, most doctors also provide you with breakthrough medicine but with a long acting drug that helps with the pain then you are not going to be as likely to have to take the short acting so often I wish you the very best, take care
