I've been on oxycodone 20mg for 2 years and gabapentin,600mg,for 2 years, and Zanaflex 4 mgs for 6months, and for the past 4 months my oxycodone which I take all medicines at 6am except Zanaflex, seems to knock my pain down to a 6, and lasts about 4 hours then the pain comes back with a vengeance, I'm on P.M because of chronic back pain plus I've had 17 back surgeries, now I'm afraid that my doctor won't adjust it. I'm seeking any advise I can find . Thank you.
If I were you I would be honest and up front with your doctor. Don't assume your doctor will not adjust your pain medications. Instead try to keep an open mind and tell the doctor the truth about your pain level.
Tell the doctor where the pain is coming from and be honest with him about how long your current pain medications last. Maybe your doctor will recommend a treatment plan. In addition to pain meds maybe a nerve block would help.
Put your physical symptoms and level of pain in the doctors hands and see what he recommends.
