I am a 38 year old female. I have periodontitis. I saw my dentist today for severe pain in my gums and teeth. I have significant bone loss and my gums are far receded past my roots, exposing bone. I do not drink. I do not use drugs. I brush at least 2 times a day with a soft toothbrush and Sensodyne. I use warm sea salt water rinses. I was prescribed Norco 7.5mg and Clindamycin 300mg. I also have Orajel, Orabase, Anbesol, and I take 400mg of ibuprofen. For the life of me, absolutely nothing I have tried is relieving my intense pain. I am near the point of going to a nearby ER. I follow up with my dentist in one week after completing my course of antibiotics. Is there anything that can take some of my pain away? I do not understand how taking 400mg of ibuprofen and 15mg of Norco every 4 hours is not even taking the edge of the pain away... let alone the intense throbbing. Suggestions gladly welcome.
