... about the possability of liver damage. I have had multiple back surgeries and need meds to get thru the day. Which med is a good alternative?
Have you had liver tests?? Although you are only taking 1625mg of acetaminophen, 375mg less than the recommended dose (new recommendations), being on the acetaminophen is not a good drug long term. But unless you are turning yellow all over, you really don't know if you are in liver failure. You need blood tests for that, so I suggest that you go and have an annual physical, and blood work, which might give you the answer as to why you are having digestive problems. The PM docs these days are moving toward long acting medications if you are taking the short acting ones daily, with some breakthrough meds if you need them during the day of short acting narcotics.
You will have100 people here give you 100 different choices on what works for them, but that will not help you. you have to work with your doctor, they know what kind of pain you are in, what you are suffering from and from there you and your doctor make the decision on what med you should take. Best of luck to you!! I hope that you find the answers that you need.
