I have had Chronic and intractable pain for over seventeen years. Was recently diagnosed with archonaditis and am becoming increasingly unable to walk. Just moved close to Astoria, Oregon and am looking for a doctor whom will prescribe me my oxycodone and or oxycontin. Can anyone please help me. Desperate due to my relocation. :) J
If you were on the medication already your former doctor should help you out with a hold-over prescription until you get settled with a new doctor. If you never had a prescription then you will likely be drug tested before a new doctor will prescribe your requested pain med, if they're even willing to prescribe it. Pain Management clinics are a good place to try as there's less judgment because the medical professionals there understand how terrible it is to be in pain and not believed by doctors. They may also be able to help with alternative pain relief medications, supplements, diet, physical therapy recommendation, etc...
You may also consider signing up for a Pain Rehabilitation Clinic (places like Mayo Clinic, Cleveland Clinic and others have such programs) these are in-patient. They are extremely dedicated to helping you throughout the entire process and also at finding the right medication(s) and other things you can do for relief.
Best wishes finding a new doctor.
