While I am not a doctor, I can tell you that there are additional meds that may help with your pain.
Have you heard of neurontin or lyrica? They may help with your nerve pain. Have you tried physical therapy to help strengthen the muscles that support the bones? I found that it helps with the arthritis. I take celebrex for my arthritis. You can look these drugs up on this site and read about them. Then talk to your doctor again.
Good luck and keep in touch,
hi bitterwo, You could try the meds Laurie suggested as they can help a lot with nerve pain. If you sleep on your side, keep a roll pillow under your neck to keep your spine in the right position. Use a large body pillow to keep your arm up and away from your body. This will take some pressure off your shoulders. Regardless of your weight, physical therapy CAN be a benefit. Therapists are skilled at working with larger people and know certain exercises that you'll be able to do that can help. Especially ones to help alleviate pressures on the worst points of pain. Simply by increasing pain meds will eventually lead to more tolerances and not address the underlying causes. A temporary increase may be in order while you go through PT. I really hope you discuss this with your doctor. Best wishes and hope you feel better soon.
