... will my drug test just show positive for opiates or is oxycotin show up as something different
It shouldn't show up UNLESS they search for Oxycodone alone. Oxycodone is an Opioid not a Opiate. Most test look for Opiates such as Heroin which breaks down into morphine and other Opiates. Rarely do UA company's search for Oxycodone unless they are told to or they do a more advanced test. So it's going to be a close call. Hopefully they only use the simple test, not the more advanced testing. Wish you the best. Good Luck.
I went through the same deal recently... I was taking approximately 60 mg of oxycodone a day for an extended period of time and passed a basic 3-panel drug test. Hydrocodone is an opiate and shows up on that test very easily. Oxycodone, the chemical in Oxycontin (name brand), is synthetic and much harder to detect. It usually takes a dedicated test to pick it up. I believe a 5-panel test would look for it though along with benzodiazepines (xanax)... so Id try to find out if you can whether it's 3 or 5 panel.
I wouldnt advise taking it the day of the test, and drink lots of water, but you'll probably be fine as long as you're not taking a super high dosage for a long period of time. Be careful with those pills though, they're so addictive it's ridiculous and the withdrawls are pretty bad too. I've seen many, MANY people go down that street and very few come back.
