OK- I've been knocked out and come out confused. I got to a doctor the next day. We know that i had a concussion because i hit the back of my head on big rock, when a horse rolled over me. Then when friends rolled me over to get my face out of the sand, I hit my head again. Only rock there and got knocked out again.
My son was bucked off in a rodeo. He was still unconscious in the med tent. They used smelling salts, He came to, fall back on the board and knocked himself out- this happened several times. He was knocking his brains out. They were trying to restrain me. I finally got them to put some padding under his head, so when he came to and fell back, he stayed conscious. No after effects except for holding the state record for being knocked out the longest at a rodeo and not needing brain surgery or somewhat. Now his wife. if some one tapped her on the head, she showed signs of severe concussion. She tripped at the trading post, came to and said she was OK-- Later on she was asking where her long dead grandmother lived. They called me, and I brought her home. It took about 2 days before she seemed OK. The tribal cops kept her car and keys, so she wouldn't be driving. The doctor said to watch her-when she asked where her car was, we told her it was being fixed. This happened all of the time. Sorry that I can't be of more help-other than saying everyone is different.
During an accident in 2008, among other things, I hit my head as my body whip-lashed twice. Thankfully, there was no bleeding on the brain, but I was diagnosed with concussive syndrome, Auditory Memory Loss, ... One of the worst things that happened is that, from a trauma like this, I also began having pain throughout my body, It was diagnosed as Fibromyalgia. (Unfortunately, my neurologist hadn't kept up with the times and he doesn't believe that Fibro can be caused by the whip-lashing affects of an accident.) Anyway, please let us know what has happened to you. Best wishes
