What can I do
Get to the emergency department of a medical center or call 9-1-1. Do not react to chest pain without serious concern and priority, especially if you have a family history of heart disease. It is possible your pain may not be related to your heart health, but hospitals have a series of tests they routinely perform to rule out significant heart disease. I would recommend you put your mind at ease and get checked out!
Yes, first of all and most importantly get checked out for any heart problems. If your heart is OK you might ask your doctor about costochrondritis. I have it and it can closely mimic heart attack symptoms including causing trouble taking deep breaths. But it is totally benign. My rheumatologist diagnosed it and told me about it. Has to do with muscles tightening and causing spasms. Muscle relaxants help a lot. Hope you are doing OK!!!
