(prescribed to me for 13 years), I am currently using 60 mg. MSContin twice daily. Please... if there's anyone out there who can help me, if you have any safe remedies. I'm a Vietnam vet and also have to use clonazepam for my PTSD. Thank you & God bless you. I eagerly wait a response
I respectively disagree with the other person. I've been on 100mg M.S Contin & many other strong narcotics like 8mg Dilaudid,100 M.C.G Fentenyl,Oxycodone,Vicodin,& others & I've found the best way(NONE ARE COMPLETLY EASY) but the easiest way I've found is to taper yourself down. The first day try only taking 45mg & do that until you don't feel like your experencing any withdrawal symptoms & since you've been on them so long I'm sure you know what they are,the feeling cold, the insomnia & anxiety, anyway after that try dropping to 30mg again for as long as it takes until you again feel no W.D's at this point I'd ask your doctor for 15mg immediate realease because they get out your system faster then the 15mg E.R's. After that you could even drop down to 5mg oxcycodone & take those when you feel some W.D symptoms, but take them only when you really feel you need them & also make sure you don't drop down from the 60mg too fast & you don't have to drop down to from 60mg E.R to 45mg just drop what you feel comfortable with. There is a method you can find on google called the Thomas Method,it's kind of i said but it also gives you ways to make it more comfortable. I'm surprised more people didn't give you more advice, but if you follow what I said you should be O.K. The other ways like Methadone & Suboxen are just substituting one narcotic versus another narcotic so what's the point because then you have to get off those narcotics? Good luck & I think you'll be fine, the craving & mental aspect is a little tougher.
