I had a friend who developed circulation problems in one leg after a motorcycle accident. He chose to have it amputated (which he feels bitter about) and suffers from weird muscle spasms and phantom pain (he made the decision to elect amputation). He feels the doctors should have done more but they were dealing with a leg that kept on developing painful necrotic ulcers. It is a quality of life decision; probably the hardest you will ever make. Choose wisely.
The very best of luck to you, Steve
