Can anyone interpret my MRI,from a year ago,its say there are small disc/osteophytes complexes noted at T5-6 T6-7 T7-8 more broad at T8-9, T10-11and T11-12. These all result in mild thecal sac compression, but no "significant levels" of canal stenosis, cord compressions or foraminal stenosis. No "large" disc herniations identified. Does that mean there is canal stenosis, cord compressions and foraminal stenosis and herniations? If not... why did they mention it at all? I feel alot of pressure and pain around my bid back w/ really bad back spasms!! My Dr. wants to do an injection but afraid of menengitis.
You make sure that the medication he uses didn't come from the co that made the stuff that caused the meningitis. It was from ameridose llc. The question on the mri, they are saying those things are there but not so severely that they should be causing alot of trouble. The way I feel, if you're having pain, it doesn't matter what your mri says. You are probably having muscle spasms because of the alteration in your spine. Muscle spasms hurt. Has the doc put you on muscle relaxers?
I am not sure about how to interpret your MRI results but I have the same feeling in my thorasic area between my shoulder blades. I have a lump in each of my traps that are huge both of my hands are numb and my forearms feel like they have been blown up from a pump. Very painful.I have "diaphermation", "sp" my hands are white which means no nutrients are reaching them and blood flow is lessoned.same with my feet. Same squeezing feeling in my mid thorasic region. I can't bend my fingers anymore let me know if you get diagnosed. I've been at this for over 3 years now most doctors want to send me to a shrink. I found one that told me there are many things going on but since my xrays CT scans MRI's are over 3 years he can only use the ones within 1 year for a diagnosis.
So I have to have them all done again.I have tons of muscle spasms 1 in my left eye that doesn't stop and huge Knotts in my back that are the size golf balls yet they still want to send me to a shrink as if nothing is wrong with me. Please someone HELP! I also have 2 fusions l-4, l-5, l-5, s-1they are now stacked crooked on top of each other and all the other things that come with failed fusions. Scoliosis degenerative disk disease failed back syndrome and more.
A lot of doctors are under the impression that just because the spinal cord isn't being compressed there is not need for treatment. I have severe osteoporosis that has resulted in several spinal fractures, but they won't do a thing about it because they haven't involved a stenosis or compression of the spinal cord. I have the same pain 24/7 that you are describing. Osteophytes are bone spurs & can be quite painful because they are probably pressing on nerves. You didn't list your age, but they are quite common as you start to age. That doesn't negate the fact that you are in pain. Are you being treated for the pain at all? I wish you the best...
