OxyContin - I have copd can this medicine be taken saftly with copd medicines?

hello jeevee, if your getting prescribed oxycontin from your regular md, who is also treating your copd, it should be fine. only because opiate pain medication will lower your respiratory rate, like slowing it. if its the same dr, he is aware and probably has you on a safe dose and frequent check ups. so please do not take more the dr prescribes or it could cause you to having severe breathing trouble or even stopping. if your dr doesnt know about your copd, its very important you tell him/her, it can be fatal, hope this helps free discount card
