... half of a 5mg tab. She weights about 50lbs. I was half asleep and didn't realize until after that I gave her a whole tab. Will she be ok?
Call her dr. There isn't a pediatric dose in the literature. Probably he'll just say to not give her another one for a while. If I have a medication that is supposed to be half a pill I ask the pharmacy to cut all of them, or I do it when I get home. then things like that don't happen.
Hello, you can relax your daughter had her tonsils out and that pain is very bad. One 5 mg Oxycodone will not hurt her at all. They worry about depressing the patients breathing ability if it's to strong but in reality in a 5 mg Percocet and I am assuming that's what they wrote for but you got the generic brand, it doesn't even have a full 5 mg instead it's 4.4815 mg of Oxycodone. So by breaking it in half you are not getting an even 2.5 mg you are getting much less. This is a very minimal dose even at the full tablet amount, the best thing to do is just make sure that she's eating something as best as she can perhaps milkshakes are in order and she will be ok. You can review what I have told you by putting the question in the search engine does Percocet contain 4.4815 of Oxycodone and or check RX list.com
