I need a suggestions for a painkiller for after my ACL surgery. I have no contraindicators for taking a narcotic. I do not want to take a combo drug so I was leaning towards asking for just oxycodone. Now I read it should only be taken after surgery if taken before surgery. I am confused, I need a suggestion. Comments, advice? Thanks
There are numerous opiate based pain killers that would be ok for after surgery and do not have tylenol in them such as oxycodone (without acetominophen), dilaudid, and morphine to name a few.
As far as the before and after surgery, not familar with that rule. I have taken oxycodone numerous times after surgery without having been on it before hand.
